INFORMATION ABOUT ME

 My name is John D. Taylor, and I live in Kansas City, Missouri.  I was born in Denison, Texas on October 31, 1946 (you do the math).  I am the only child of Herbert S. (Sam) and Marguerite (Marge) Taylor (now Greenup).  I graduated from Wyandotte High School in Kansas City, Kansas, in 1965.  I have lived in KCMO since 1966.  I am 6'5" tall and weigh 220 pounds (usually). My hair (what there is of it) is brown, and my eyes are steel grey, although the DMV insists that they are blue.

I have been married to Patricia (Wickman) since 1975 (over 30 years!), and we have one daughter, Miranda. See below.

I am a data base administrator, and have worked for a major insurance company since August of 1980. See below.

I am a founding member of the Kansas City Science Fiction and Fantasy Society (KaCSFFS) since July, 1972, and have served as Director, Newsletter Editor, and Secretary.  I have also chaired several of our conventions, ConQuesT (originally BYOB-Con), which are held on Memorial Day weekend.  You can link to our web-site just by clicking on this link:  KaCSFFS

I enjoy fantasy role playing games (FRPGs), and have played in the same campaign since 1983.  We play a skill-based system called MagicWorld rather than the more famous level-based game Dungeons and Dragons^TM.

One of these days I hope to learn persistency.  I am far too flighty and quick to change.

That is all that I care to reveal about myself on the Internet, although I do have many more facets left undisclosed.  Like David Hyde Pierce, "My life is an open book; I just don't choose to read it to everyone."

Well, I have been through a lot of changes since the preceding was written. I quit my job and retired on April 13, 2007. I have been writing a lot, and selling a little.

My wife Pati died July 3rd, 2007. There's not much I can say after that. I will never love or be loved so much again.

After 25+ years, our gaming circle has broken up. I felt as if we'd been everywhere and done everything. Twice. It was time to move on.

To my list of offices with KaCSFFS I can now add Treasurer. Where was my mind???
